Good craft beer tours in the Czech Republic fill up weeks ahead and the small brewhouses go first. Below: the 10 to lock in early, what each includes and where they differ.

Start at Prague’s Powder Tower at 6 pm for a 3.5-hour small-group beer walk through Karlin and other local stops. A Czech beer professional such as Martin, Alex, or Jacob explains brewing, pub customs, pouring, and home brewing while you sample beers, eat three typical pub dishes, and visit an operating microbrewery.

We ended up going to places more tailored towards our likes, and he was great at explaining not only the craftmanship of the beer, but some of the trends and current scene as well. Spend about three and a half hours walking and riding Prague trams between three beer stops. You can taste up to 11 Czech beers, including seven flavored samples at Pivovarský dům Benedict, dark beer at U Fleků, and lager at U Medvídků. Leave Prague’s traffic behind on a high-end e-bike ride along the Vltava and Berounka rivers. Stop at 15th-century Karlstejn Castle, then climb gently through quiet villages to Vseradice for lunch and local beer. Martin or Christina may guide the ride. The route reaches up to 50 km, with a train return included.
